A little story about this project

As I was approaching the end of my High School journey, COVID-19 was still spreading throughout (and not only) Italy. The Ministry of Education decided that it was not possible to proceed with the normal final exams a.k.a. "Prova di Maturità".

It was instead decided to provide us with an assignment to develop, which varied depending on the school and course.

As an IT school, we were tasked with the creation of a website that had to feature basic account management features, to prove our coding skills in web development languages (HTML5, CSS, PHP, JS and SQL).

I decide to develop an ambitious project consisting in a peer2peer renting platform, where users could upload their personal objects to rent them out.

With limited development time of <2 weeks I barely made it in time for the delivery date.

However, it proved to be a solid work that pleased the commission and helped me to earn a 100/100 graduation score.

My university path begins and the project becomes abandoned as I focus on my studies.

After mentioning the project to a friend, we decided to revive it, upgrade it and propose it to Bocconi's own startup accelerator, B4I (Bocconi for Innovation).

Plenty of features were added such as geolocation by GPS and IP to automatically filter listings in the area.

After putting together a pitch we decide to send our idea to B4I.

Sadly, we were not selected for the acceleration round.

We decide to stop working on the project and continue to fully dedicate our time to our studies.

The website is partially revived as a showcase project for anyone interested in the story.
